We invite defeat when we remember what we should forget and forget what we should remember. We must stop pressing the rewind button. I’m reminded of Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi. He said, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13,14 KJV) Paul had good reason to forget his past, formally known as Saul he wreaked havoc on the early church; he was without pity or compassion, cruel, merciless, in other words ruthless. If the truth be told, we have all done things we wish we could change; but the scriptures give us hope, encouragement, and instruction for living. 2 Corinthians 5:17, states”therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.(KJV) When the Devil tries to enslave you with your past, remind him that Jesus already paid the price. Jesus is a three fold deliverer; He has delivered, He is delivering, and He will yet deliver! And finally, always remember that God loves you and He has an awesome plan for your life. Trust him He will not fail you.
